Types of White Wine

A lighter variety of wines than the red one, the white wine are not truly white in their color, in fact they range from shades of pale yellow to deep golden in appearance. Often consumed along with lighter meals, they can be an enhancement to the food you consume or simply an appetizer or an aperitif or a refreshing drink to say it all.

The color usually depending on the choice of varietals or the grapes used to produce the wine, the wines with a higher content of sugar are mostly more deeper in color than the others. The grapes that are usually employed for the production of white wine and after which these are named include varieties like Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris or Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Viognier. Along with the ones already mentioned some white wines that are real popular among wine aficionados include names like Semillon, Muscat, Roussanne or Marsanne.

Being more refreshing and lighter in taste and style the white wines are ideal for the spring and summer occasions, the most common white wine flavors include variations like citrus, apple, Pear, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Pineapple, Melon, Butter, Honey, Floral, Herb and Earthy.

So, try this interesting and refreshing drink that goes well with all those different cuisines!
